The OTT: ScrapperMania III Main Event Is Loaded
Saturday, FloSlam brings you some early wrestling action with Over The Top Wrestling's ScrapperMania III. The main event is loaded with some of the top stars in independent wrestling. The Bullet Club's Elite of The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega will take on the team of Will Ospreay, Lio Rush and Ryan Smile.

Your FloSlam subscription gets you access to all the live action as well as our ever-expanding library of archived events.

Let's take a look at the two teams in one of the biggest main events of the year.

The Elite

The Young Bucks are coming off a huge WrestleMania weekend, topping The Hardys in a wild ladder match to win the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship for a third time in their career.

Beating The Hardys in one of their trademark matches is no minor feat, but the Bucks are able to do incredible things in the ring. While they are known for throwing somewhere between 20 and 100 superkicks in a match, they are incredible in their actual abilities and diversity of offense.

The Bucks have an incredibly lengthy list of accomplishments, winning titles in CHIKARA, DDT-Pro, DGUSA, PWG, ROH, and many others. In New Japan Pro Wrestling, they have captured the Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship five times and have held the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Championship with Omega once. They are not only the most in-demand tag team in the world, they deliver every time they step into the ring.

Omega kicked off 2017 with what legendary pro wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer called possibly the greatest match of all time against Kazuchika Okada at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11. Meltzer awarded the match six stars on a five star scale. 2017 has been such an amazing in-ring year in the sport that it's possible Omega/Okada is now only a top-five match for the year after less than four months.

Omega is one of the absolute premier performers in the world and the chance to see him outside the NJPW stage is rare. In the past six months, he has only competed outside of NJPW on three occasions.

One of his hidden strengths is the ability to not only put on intense, emotional matches on a big stage, but to mix in comedy in the appropriate situations, like appearances at DDT Pro in the past. The variety of styles he is able to work makes him a truly special talent who can stand out in a world of special talents.

The Uptown Funkers

Will Ospreay and Ryan Smile were originally slated to team with Richochet. However, an injury knocked Ricochet from the event, but they found a more than capable replacement in Lio Rush.

Rush is a 22-year-old who is already among the elite wrestlers in independent wrestling. He was the winner of the 2016 Top Prospect Tournament in Ring of Honor and recently left the promotion, returning to EVOLVE and taking more bookings across various promotions. While he has the ability to be a high flyer, "The Man of the Hour" has made it known he doesn't prefer to be described in those terms.

With rumors of WWE interest in signing Rush to be a part of the NXT roster, it's possible fans of indie wrestling are on their final few months of seeing Rush on the smaller stage.

Ospreay, unlike Rush, is more than happy to be described as a man who does "flippy shit." He is one of the most spectacular high flyers in the business, able to do seemingly anything he can imagine.

His style has landed him stints as ROH television champion, Progress champion, NJPW Best of the Super Juniors winner among other titles.

Smile is the current holder of the OTT No Limits Championship. He took the title from Pete Dunne on February 4 and successfully defended the belt against Jeff Cobb a month later.

Smile has been coming into his own over the past few years. With wins over Dunne and Cobb recently in OTT, he is now pulling off victories over some top-tier talent. The kind of talent he'll share the ring with on Saturday.
